Cashier

Look at this picture. Is this a simple job or not? I really want to experience this work but unfortunately in the place where I grew up, Cashier is only for beautiful girls or good looking guy. Well beautiful for us is with light skin. I'm dark so I'm not one of those pleasing personality as they discribed. I'm so hurt! But atleast here, eventhough I'm not beautiful I can work as Cashier! The only difference I notice was Cashier don't sit! All day standing! No helper or we say bagger. In our city they are sitting and somebody put all those paid items in plastic or bag.

For me this is easy job if you are already familiar with all the steps in register. At first for me it was so difficult specially if register don't work and tell me error..ohh I really need more patience! But atleast now I'm learning. And since I'm new here I make sure I'm correct in terms of counting money and always careful in giving change. This job is always fun! Exciting when dealing with different characteristic of customers. I just give them my nice smile and greet them.

i'll never forget

People always remember what happened when they were kids. I honestly love my younger years and I can't forget all the craziness I've always done. But there was one experienced that really broke my heart.

August 22,1987 my parents, two sisters and me were so happy that day. Finally my mom gave birth with a baby boy. My father was so happy and saving for atleast big Christening celebration. We always happy to play with him. He smiles so nice. He is a gift that we really treasure.

First week of November 1987, I'm the one taking care of our brother and that time he don't stop crying. We are so worried so my mom brought him to the hospital, to know his condition. I'm just 7 yrs old that time so I don't really understand what happened. November 17,1987, when we woke up my brother was home but my mom said he's gone. It really broke my heart. This was the first time I saw my dad cried so much.It really bothered me until I'm in my highschool because I'm the last person who carry him. My mother never explain to me what's happened when I'm young but atleast it was cleard when she told me it's not my fault. It will really happen because she fell and don't know she's pregnant that time and did broke the head.

I know its not nice to think of it. I believe he is with God now and a handsome angel. Today is August 22 that's why I remembered. Already 21 yrs ago but still I can feel the pain. Anyway to all who read this, always remember to take care your precious baby inside the tummy and always show love to all your love ones... Our time is not ours...Tell everybody you love that you love them.

Topiaries

In my highschool days we need to be creative for our Home Economics Subject (HE). You must create things with less expense and if you can make without expenses that's much better. Less expense = higher grade. That was great for me because we are not rich and I can't afford to buy materials. So I usually use "retaso" from my moms' sewing room. I made flowers with the use of clothes. Everytime I can see topiary, it reminds me of my experienced in handycrafts making. I'm so thankful I can create such things and don't give headaches to my parents where to get money for my HE projects.

In the future when I can save money to start the business maybe I will consider handycrafts business. Atleast I can use my skills and enjoy my business. I'm hoping it will come true.

PASSION FOR DANCING

Dancing is a performing art. It's not easy to dance, you need concentration to know all the steps and be confident to perform in front of people. But once you experience dancing, your self -esteem will raise and will develop flexibility. In dancing you can also expressed your emotion. Enjoy the moments while doing every actions.

Since I'm a kid I always involve myself in school and town programs. We usually got the opportunity to dance. I love to dance specially if I like the beat. Makes me happy after performing and felt so satisfied like I achieve my goal after all the practices. I really have that passion for dancing.

It was a great joy and privilege to dance in my college life. Dancesport competition is one of the best event in our school. It was so exciting to represent our department. Since I don't have confidence to ware daring costumes I only performed Standard Ballroom. So we dance; Waltz, Foxrot, Tango, Viennese Waltz and Quickstep. With these dances I wore long gown and no worries of what people may say about my skin color.

When I graduated college I never thought I will still dance. Another wonderful experience offered to me, so I grabbed the opportunity. The difference was this time I performed Latin dances. Those are Cha Cha, Rumba, Paso Doble, Samba and Jive. With these dances I finally challenged myself to ware daring costume. At least it's worth to ware because we won on this competition.

Those are my great experiences in dancing. Now, I still dance with my son to make him sleep and for my exercise. So to all who are shy to dance, go out on your shell and explore the world of dancing.

I'm Amazed!!!

When the time our son is ready for vacation, we travel by land to California and Oregon to visit his great aunts, grandma and grandpa. We enjoy our time there but about the travel? No thanks, never again. Not nice for mommy, it was so hard to travel with baby. We are always on the road 16 hours to Sacramento, CA, to Enterprise, OR another 12 hours then back home another 8 hours. So crazy!

Staying with my parents-in-laws' new house it's like we paid for a hotel room. So nice I really felt comfortable. We enjoy the different views from their windows. Sunshine to sunset. We also enjoy the walks throught the mountains and view the Wallawa lake.

What amazed me most? When my mother-in-law gave me all the things my husband wores when he is still a baby! That's great! She kept all the baby things. Now our son waring all his dad's clothes, receiving blanket, crib blankets, sweat shirt, johnny jump up, toys and even his little shoes. You think it's amazing?

I MISS PHILIPPINES

It's been already one year and three months since I move here. Happily married!!! My husband is so good and never gave me any problems. Our son always makes me so busy and help to go on. It's just me, I can't control thinking about Philippines. I miss my native land. Honestly its nice to live here, it's just you will really miss where you grew up. Sometimes I really wanna cry, i want to be there and be with my parents, sisters and brother, relatives and friends.

It's different to live away from your parents. They are not here to help. Especially with a baby, you will think and hope that you are with them. Thanks to my friends, they are always ready to talk and chat with me. With them, I was able to adjust little by little how to handle my emotions. My technique is to call anyone of my friends just to stop the feeling of being homesick. Thanks God He created friends, a true friends that is always ready to alleviate the feelings.

APPLE TREE

When we're still young, we always want to know things around us. Maybe not all are the same but I'm really curious especially the food that I loved to eat. Vegetables and fruits are the most important food to complete my day. My mom really likes me for that. All the vegetables and fruits I ate I really need to see the tree or know what is the look of the plants. And when I can see the plants or find answers to my questions I will be contented. Most plants I saw from my grandmothers' garden. All the vegetables, trees that bare fruits and even spices are there.

I saw a lot of plants such as pechay (Pak Choi), cabbage, kamote, kangkong, squash, white squash, bitter melon, eggplant ( the long violet and the round green), green beans, long beans, string beans, raddish, okra, and tomatoes. For spices I saw ginger, onion, chili peppers, ordinary peppers, and I'm so surprise when I saw black peppers. Vine type plant and like grapes.

Almost all the trees and plants that produce fruits I already saw. I love to climb and really pick it and contentment is always there. I climbed mango tree, guava tree, guyabano, wild atis, sugar apple ( atis), avocado, dalandan, pomelo (suha), durian, lanzones, mangosteen, jackfruit, coconut, papaya, santol, star fruit, tambis and rambotan. We cut banana tree to harvest the fruit and cut sugar cane.Picked pineapples, watermelon and peanuts. And I saw grapes too! It was a great vacation for a me because almost all what i want to see was there, but still there's one thing lacking. An Apple tree. Ever since I was a kid I've always wanted to see an apple tree. Unluckily, tropical country can't have it. So I accepted the fact that I can't see an actual apple tree.

I grew up forget about my curiosity. Got married, get pregnant and on my first prenatal, guess what? I saw an apple tree! So happy ever and I really pick one. Sometimes in our life we never knew the things we really want will be given to us.

Blessings from God
